Mini PC Setup: Dual Menu

Out-of-box setup checklist for running two DigitalPour menus on two TVs from one mini PC. Windows 11 Pro.

For setting up a single menu on one TV, see Mini PC Setup: Single Menu.

Before you begin. Have your Wi-Fi network name and password available, along with the mini PC and its power adapter, two TVs or displays, two HDMI cables, a keyboard and mouse, and your two DigitalPour Menu IDs. See Hardware Requirements for the devices we recommend. The mini PC must have two HDMI ports.

1. Connect the Hardware

Both TVs should display an image from the computer once Windows has started.

2. Complete Windows 11 First-Time Setup

When Windows starts for the first time:

3. Run Windows Update

Before installing DigitalPour, go to Start → Settings → Windows Update.

4. Set Windows Update Active Hours

Windows can automatically restart the computer after installing updates. Setting Active Hours helps prevent Windows from restarting while your business is open and your DigitalPour menus are in use.

Go to Start → Settings → Windows Update → Advanced options → Active hours.

IMPORTANT: Active Hours primarily prevents Windows from automatically restarting the PC for updates during that period. Windows may still download or install updates in the background.

Recommended: Choose the widest Active Hours allowed by Windows that covers your normal business hours. If your business operates very late or 24 hours a day, contact DigitalPour Support for assistance configuring the computer.

5. Set Up the Two Displays

Go to Start → Settings → System → Display. You should see two numbered display boxes representing your two TVs.

IMPORTANT: extend the displays. Under Multiple displays:

Extending the displays is what allows a different DigitalPour menu on each TV.

Arrange your displays.

This makes it easier to move the mouse and the DigitalPour menus between the two screens.

6. Set the Correct Resolution on Both Displays

Go to Settings → System → Display, then select Display 1.

Now select Display 2 and repeat:

IMPORTANT: Check these settings individually for both displays. Windows can assign different resolution and scaling settings to each TV.

7. Prevent the PC From Going to Sleep

Go to Settings → System → Power & battery → Screen, sleep & hibernate timeouts.

The computer needs to remain awake so both DigitalPour menus stay online.

8. Disable the Screen Saver

Search Windows for Change screen saver.

9. Set the Correct Date, Time and Time Zone

Go to Settings → Time & language → Date & time.

10. Check Internet Connection

11. Prepare Both TVs

Complete these steps on TV 1 and TV 2:

12. You Are Ready for DigitalPour

Before installing the DigitalPour menus, confirm:

Your mini PC is now ready for DigitalPour installation and configuration.

13. Install the DigitalPour Menu Software

14. Configure Menu 1

When DigitalPour Menu opens for the first time, you will be prompted for a Menu ID.

15. Configure Menu 2

The second TV requires its own DigitalPour Menu ID.

IMPORTANT: Each DigitalPour menu or display has its own Menu ID. Make sure the correct Menu ID is assigned to the correct TV.

How to Find Your Menu IDs

Log in to your DigitalPour Management Program, then go to Settings → Windows Menus. You will see a list of your existing menus.

TV 1 Menu ID: ________________________

TV 2 Menu ID: ________________________
