Mini PC Setup: Single Menu

Out-of-box setup checklist for running one DigitalPour menu on one TV. Windows 11 Pro.

For setting up two menus on two TVs from one computer, see Mini PC Setup: Dual Menu.

Before you begin. Have your Wi-Fi network name and password available, along with the TV or display, an HDMI cable, a keyboard and a mouse. See Hardware Requirements for the devices we recommend.

1. Connect the Hardware

2. Complete Windows 11 First-Time Setup

When Windows starts for the first time:

3. Run Windows Update

Before installing DigitalPour, go to Start → Settings → Windows Update.

4. Set Windows Update Active Hours

Windows can automatically restart the computer after installing updates. Setting Active Hours helps prevent Windows from restarting while your business is open and DigitalPour menus are in use.

Go to Start → Settings → Windows Update → Advanced options → Active hours.

IMPORTANT: Active Hours primarily prevents Windows from automatically restarting the PC for updates during that period. Windows may still download or install updates in the background.

Recommended: Choose the widest Active Hours allowed by Windows that covers your normal business hours. If your business operates very late or 24 hours a day, contact DigitalPour Support for assistance configuring the computer.

5. Set the Correct Display Resolution

Go to Settings → System → Display.

6. Prevent the PC From Going to Sleep

Go to Settings → System → Power & battery → Screen, sleep & hibernate timeouts.

The computer needs to remain awake so your DigitalPour menus stay online.

7. Disable the Screen Saver

Search Windows for Change screen saver.

8. Set the Correct Date, Time and Time Zone

Go to Settings → Time & language → Date & time.

9. Check Internet Connection

10. Prepare the TV

On the television itself:

11. You Are Ready for DigitalPour

Once everything above is complete:

Your menu computer is now ready for DigitalPour installation and configuration.

12. Install the DigitalPour Menu Software

Once the menu computer has completed the Windows setup and is connected to the internet, you are ready to install DigitalPour.

13. Enter Your DigitalPour Menu ID

When DigitalPour Menu opens for the first time, you will be prompted for a Menu ID.

IMPORTANT: Each DigitalPour menu or display may have its own Menu ID. If you are setting up multiple TVs, make sure you enter the correct Menu ID for each display.

How to find your Menu ID. Log in to your Management program, then go to Settings → Windows Menus. You will see a list of your existing menus. Double-click the menu you need, and the Menu ID is listed at the top.

Final Check

Before considering setup complete:

Your DigitalPour menu computer is now ready for use.

If the menu does not load, displays an error, or you are unsure which Menu ID to use, please contact DigitalPour Support at 503.880.5510 before changing additional Windows or application settings.
